I would never be so insensitive as to use my wife’s painful job-loss episode as some kind of … science experiment or something. But I couldn’t help noticing, as the story spread through the blogosphere, that recent commentators are right: blogsearch engines are too lame, and websearch engines are too late (though I hardly think that ping-tracking is the answer).
It was at least 24 hours before web engines had anything retrievable from the controversy (unfortunately, the G entity was first, by a bit), and even longer before we got a really good result for the phrase “clueless newbie”. Blogsearch engines on the other hand… don’t get me started – retrieval wasn’t happening. Something must be done about this.
Isn’t this what trackbacks are for? Could you have just a trackback crawler? Just an idea.
