The REAL hiring question

(I forget which one of our friends said this first, but it bears repeating:)

If A’s hire A’s, and B’s hire C’s, then … how do B’s get hired in the first place?

  1. I think this was said at an Excite all-hands.

A people usually hire other A people, but sometimes they hire a B person. B people usually hire other B people, but sometimes they hire a C person….

I’m not sure what the “punchline” was, but I think it was something like: We may need help badly, but we can’t lower our standards.
